Our Crazy Life, lately

Catching up. My last posting was almost a month ago, so it's time for an update. Riley Rose had her 15 month shots on March 23. She was 16 months old by the time I realized that she was due for shots so that's why they were in March. Way to be a mom on top of things, right? The doctor's appointment went great. Still no signs of wheezing, however we are going to stay on the asthma medicine until we can go 1 whole year with no 'flare-ups'. She got a little upset when it was time for the shots though. Thankfully she only had to have 1 this time :) The day after the shots, I came to work bright and early. My co-workers and I had decided to work in Barbour County for the day (it is another county that is covered within our grant). We just get to Barbour County when I receive a phone call to come to the Troy ER because Randy is there. So, we hurry back to Troy and I meet Randy at the ER (my mom works there, so she had been with him until I could make it). While working (at Sikorsky) that morning, Randy had stuck his hand into an Auto Riveter machine to place a rivet in. He thought that the machine was off, however, another employee had her foot on the pedal that opperates the machine so when his hand went in, the machine sensed it and shot a rivet through his finger. Yuck! He was transferred to Baptist South where they opperated on his hand that night. Looks like everything is healing fine now.
Randy and Kaylee also went to the Annual Pops and Princess Dance at Pike Lib last Thursday night. All the girls from K4-5th grade get all dressed up and are escorted to the dance by their daddy's/granddaddys/uncles/etc. for a night of dancing and food. Mothers are not usually allowed to go, but I was a 'waitress' for the night, so I was able to experience all of the fun! They all had such an amazing time!! Randy was still feeling a little woozie from all of the pain medicine he was taking with his hand, but he was a good sport.

Riley Rose has lots of new words:
"dawg" (dog)- this is used for any animal from dogs, to cows, monkeys, and even a bird on TV last night.
"sissy"- obviously this is what she calls Kaylee. Kaylee is so happy too. RR has been saying mama and dada for so long. Now she can say all of our names :)
"hot"- this is for the dryer, my blowdryer, and the oven.
"baw"- ball
"kitty kitty"- she does know what a kitty is. Strange that she gets a "dawg" confused with a bird, however she can tell the difference between a dog and a cat.....

  1. I LOVE that she uses "dawg" for ALL animals except for cats. Love it. When I was younger, I thought that all dogs were boys and all cats were girls....
