Anything else?

As you all know, Randy had an accident at work 2 weeks ago. He has been healing very well, so we went to his Surgeon's (Dr. Lindsay) office in Montgomery on Monday to have the stitches taken out. After the stitches were taken out and we were about to go home, Randy asks the doctor if he can have one more X-Ray just to be sure that everything was for sure healing OK and that there were no breaks/fractures that were missed. Well...the X-Rays were taken and they showed a break in his finger that was missed during the surgery. The Surgeon referred us to a Hand Specialist in Birmingham, in which we saw today. The Hand Specialist (Dr. Bonatz) says that Randy will have to have another surgery ASAP. We did as many pre-op test that we could today while we were there, however he still has to have a CT Scan and a Nerve test on his hand (the doctor is afraid that there may be some nerve damage in that hand). Those 2 tests are scheduled for tomorrow, and the surgery is scheduled for Monday. Randy is upset because he thought he was on the road to recovery, and I am just a little frustrated mainly because I'm wondering Why was this not found during the 1st surgery. I have had to do everything around the house and with the girls for the past 2 weeks and I am exhausted! He was just now getting to were he could make up the bed, unload the dishwasher, give RR her bottle, etc. (all while using his left hand only), now it is back to square #1. I guess it's true when they say "You don't realize what you have till' it's gone". I know this could have been so much worse and I feel so bad for complaining, but I'm just tired! On top of all that, I have completely drained all of my sick time at work by staying with him during all of this and transporting him to and from Doctor's appointments. There again, Why am I complaining? This is my job as a wife, and I would do it all over again! I think I just need some sleep and maybe in the morning I will wake up refreshed and feeling better.
So then tonight when Randy and I got home from Birmingham (Randy's mom was here with the girls), Kaylee tells me that she's not feeling well. This comes expected since she and Riley Rose stayed with my mom last weekend not knowing that my mom was coming down with a 4 day virus! I just put Kaylee to bed with some Motrin, so I am praying that she is just super tired from a day of playing with no nap.
Now it is off to bed.....

  1. I just read your last 3 blogs...I'm behind as usual. I hope Randy's hand gets better soon, 2 surgeries, that is terrible! I loved Kaylee being magical and RR's new words are precious. She climbs her crib! I hope things start to calm down for you guys. I'll keep reading.

  2. It will all be okay. At least with your job you can taken "extra" time off! I know it has to be frustrating when you have to take care of the kids and her husband. You just feel overwhelmed right now b/c there are so many things happening in your personal life and work life (multiple multiple things happening there). Just think...a month or 2 from now, will it still seem like a major problem...
