Lately....

This past weekend, we had no plans. It was supposed to be a pretty weekend, and we didn't want to sit at home. At the last minute, we decided to go to the beach. As I said, it was 'supposed' to be a pretty weekend. We got to the beach and the wind was something terrible! It was 50-60 degrees and windy, windy, windy! Other than that, it was a good time. We mainly shopped, and let the girls pick what we did. So.....we rode the train, played on the playgrounds, visited the ducks at the Bay, and ate at Kaylee's choice of restaurants (Hard Rock, Chinese, & O'Charleys).

Updates on the girls:
Riley Rose- 2 yrs 2 months
*We are still working on potty training. She began showing an interest around 15 months, however she has gone back and forth between being interested and not interested. Now she is interested- lets hope it stays that way! We have Ms. Lynn (daycare) helping a lot too :)
*She is talking so much more. For the longest time, I worried about her not advancing like I thought she should. No worries now; she is a talker!
*Still has that bottle though....I know, I know! I will take the blame for this one. I haven't actively tried to take it from her. To make it a little better, she only gets it in the mornings when she wakes up.
*She is a picky, picky eater! I have a special menu on the frig with "Foods RR Loves" so when it's time to grocery shop, I know what to buy.

Kaylee- 5 yrs 7 mo
*Kaylee is doing such a good job in Kindergarten this year! She is such a smart girl! All "S's" and even some "E's" on her report card this time!!!
*She is such a cuddly girl. She loves to come gives me hugs and kisses for no particular reason.
*Last month, she asked if she could stop taking baton and only do gymnastics. I did not argue with that! Saves us money and time, plus it gives her more time to spend at home just playing and spending family time. I am happy with her just being involved with 1 extra activity at a time, and that would be gymnastics- she LOVES it!
*As you can see from the pictures, the shyness that Kaylee experienced from 0-4 years old is slowly going away. YAY!...(sometimes).

What's been going on with me:
I entered the Nursing Program this semester (last semester I was finishing up some General Studies that I didn't cover in my 1st Undergraduate). So far, things are going well. I'm not overwhelmed yet, my only complaint is that I have to drive 2 hours round-trip Mon-Thurs. Two of those days I have to leave home so early that I can't take the girls to school/daycare (which makes me very sad). However, I am blessed to have a great support system (i.e. a close friend, my mother and mother-in-law, and my overly supportive husband) who take over those school drop off duties when I can't.

Until next time :)
